Close Kept Secrets to Weight Loss Lesson #12

Saturday, October 20th, 2007

By Tami Close Are you just exploding with the presence of light all around you? Isnt it awesome when you take time out for yourself, how amazing you feel? Just keep believing in yourself and the miracles will keep happening. The right people will show up and the right opportunities will show up…GUARANTEED! I am basking in my own light and let me tell you why. I just became a co-author in a book with a few famous people like Mark Victor Hansen, Deepak Chopra and Wayne Dyer and others. The name of the book is Wake Up Live the Life You LoveFinding Personal Freedom. Its a compilation of short stories designed to motivate and inspire similar to Chicken Soup for the Soul. The book will come out in March and we anticipate taking it to number #1 on the best seller list. Pretty awesome, right? Last weekend I attended a conference in Southern California as part of the Wake Up Live family. The keynote speaker was Stedman Graham, Oprahs boyfriend. During his presentation he came over to me and asked me my name and used me to illustrate some key points for his speech. I also got to attend a VIP dinner with Stedman in attendance. Pretty wonderful, right? I met some other amazing people at the conference who I attracted to help me build my business. Why am I telling you this? Before I could manifest miracles, I first needed to BELIEVE in myself and TRUST that GOD, my angels, my guides are right here with me all the time lifting me higher and higher. I have spent too many years living in worry and fear and only manifesting heartache as a result. I am not going to waste any more time living off track in lower vibrational energy. God has created me to live my purpose and I want to please Him. Now that I am believing in ME, I am soaring beyond the clouds! Want to fly with me? Then keep focusing on you and each and every minute of the day thinking thoughts that will bring in more light. You have the tools to do this: RET, EFT, affirmations, meditation, visualization, journaling, forgiveness, exercise, surrounding yourself with positive people. When you have a fearful thought that comes in, take a minute out and go tap. Guess what? You can do this for a screaming child as well. Tap for them on their face, collarbone, under the arm and their head. Youll get results for them as well. It will be great to see where you started and where you are now as a result of making you a priority. Remember, we are made to manifest miracles. Listen, trust and take Divine action. Your dreams are right here! Right now, what are you going to do to bring in more light? If you are able to step back and understand what is going on, it will help you to adapt your approach a little, and then get back on track with renewed enthusiasm. So ask yourself:-Why do I want to lose weight? What will achieving my aims give me?How will I feel if I quit?Am I always quitting before I reach my goal? Why?How will I feel if I succeed? What is making this so hard? What have I been doing (or not doing) to make this more difficult or less successful? What’s working ok?What do I need to change? What do I need to learn? What strategies could I use to get back on track? How can I adapt this to make it work for me?How could I get more support? What will help me keep going? What will I achieve by quitting? What would I do then? The fact is you can achieve anything you want if you keep going. Introduction to Medical Hypnotherapy

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

By Dr.Hanish Babu, MD Hypnosis has come a long way from being the strange and mysterious “mesmeric” phenomenon to a scientifically accepted therapeutic tool. Most people have a wrong impression about hypnosis from the stage shows and cartoon strips like Mandrake the magician. Consequently, medical science had also been suspicious and wary of its effects for a long time. Recent changes in health care have brought out an increased demand for empirically supported treatment options in medicine. There is a demand for the integration of hypnotic techniques in the treatment of a number of medical problems from various quarters. It is hence important for physicians to learn the basics of medical hypnotherapy and add it into their therapeutic armamentarium. Though time consuming, used judiciously, it can reap rich benefits for the physician and patient alike. The most important recent development in medical hypnosis is our realization that the power of hypnosis actually resides in the patient and not in the doctor! The above simple statement has profound implications because it implies existence of useful potential within each patient that can be put into positive use in the management of psychosomatic illnesses. The goal of modern medical hypnosis thus is to help patients use this untapped subconscious potential to its full extend. This will indeed bring in a fresh and somewhat revolutionary shift from the physician focused, authoritarian therapeutic techniques of the past and the present. Though the British Medical Association had recognized the importance of hypnosis as early as in 1891, it was not until 1955 that the BMA suggested teaching of the therapeutic use of hypnosis in medicine. Three years later, the American Medical Association followed suit. An International Society of Hypnosis has been set up to coordinate and assess the standards and practices of professional hypnotism across the world. Hypnosis is currently indicated in several areas of health care as an adjunct to more conventional treatments. These include dentistry, general medicine, and psychology. Dermatology, or the study of skin diseases, is a branch that has specially taken up and studied the effects of hypnosis in a number of skin conditions like warts, eczema and psoriasis. The purpose of medical hypnosis is to reduce suffering, to promote healing, or to help the person alter a destructive behaviour that may be affecting his/her health adversely. The aim of this series of articles is to help the modern medical practitioners understand hypnosis better and offer it to their patients who may benefit from it as an adjunct to the modern medical therapies. Patients suffering from a variety of illnesses will also benefit in making an informed decision on the therapeutic alternatives available to them. A few words to doctors: whether you use hypnotism in your practice or not, studying hypnotism will definitely make you a better individual and a much improved healer. Your therapeutic approach will change for the better. You will find your patients more receptive and compliant to your suggestions. It is not very difficult to master the hypnotherapy skills. This series will discuss, mainly, the following topics: Introduction to Medical HypnosisWhat is Hypnosis?Theories of HypnosisHypnosis: Myths and RealityA Brief History of Medical HypnosisHow does Hypnosis Work?Hypnotic Sleep Vs Normal SleepUses of Hypnosis in MedicineMajor Studies Conducted on Hypnotherapy So Far.The Eight Steps in Hypnotic Induction.Repertoire of Induction techniquesTrance ManagementImplanting Post Hypnotic SuggestionsProblems in HypnotherapyAutohypnosis as tool in MedicineGuidelines on Practice of Medical Hypnosis for the DoctorsGuidelines on Practice of Medical Hypnosis for the PatientsNext Chapter: What is Hypnosis? Michigan Personal Injury Lawyers

Tuesday, October 16th, 2007

By Ken Marlborough A lawyer is a qualified professional adviser on legal matters who can represent clients in court. Personal injury law refers to the law that seeks to defend victims who are harmed by the action or inaction of another individual or person. This type of injury law is also referred to as tort law. An individual can file a claim for injury gain either physically or mentally, and it can also include damage to property. Personal injury lawyers seek to win compensation for their clients. A victim with a serious personal injury, physical damage, or emotional distress must be aware of the appropriate steps to be taken in order to protect the legal rights of the consumer. It is essential for the victims to be selective of the law firm they chose to represent and protect consumer rights. Over the years many firms that specialize in advocating consumer rights against large insurance companies and defense firms have come up. These personal injury lawyers usually try to negotiate with the opposing party or their insurance company. If necessary or if the attorney thinks that the consumer has a good chance of winning, the case may go to trial. The main concerns in a personal injury case are negligence and liability. Before the consumer is awarded compensation, the consumer’s lawyer has to prove that the defendant is liable. To prove liability, the lawyer finds negligence. If the lawyer proves that there was failure to exercise reasonable care to prevent injury or damage then negligence is established. Once legal responsibility and negligence have been recognized, the judge or the jury awards money to balance for medical costs, lost wages, and lost future earnings as well as for pain and distress of the consumer. Some lawyers at Michigan offer a free consultation, allowing the consumer to be able to meet with more than one lawyer, till one is found that works best to fight against the defendants. Most of the personal injury lawyers only charge the fees when the consumer recovers the full money. These lawyers stay in business by winning cases. 10 Tips to Hiring a Wedding Planner

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

By Faith Walker If you are in the market to hire a wedding consultant, here are ten helpful tips that can guide you through the process of obtaining a profesisonal wedding consultant. 1. Find out exactly what a wedding planner does do your homework. 2. Find the names of the reputable wedding planners in your area. 3. Make a list of things you would like the wedding planner to do. If you want to plan the entire wedding, but you want the planner to direct the ceremony and reception, then you should utilize the service of a wedding planner for Day of services only. 4. Make sure your budget is relative to the type of service you would like. Most wedding planners are willing to work with you for an allotted amount of time if you are unable to purchase a package. Check with him/her to find out if they charge and hourly rate. 5. Find out if your church requires you use their wedding coordinator. Many churches now require that for the protection of the churches property, that brides must use their wedding coordinator. This doesnt mean that coordinator will work at your reception; it means you may have to hire another consultant to do your reception. 6. Check with several bridal associations and see what their members must do to become certified. Find out what classes if any your wedding consultants have taken to become certified or how many years of experience they have had in doing weddings. If they arent that experienced, will they provide you with a discounted rate in exchange for a testimonial. 7. Ask for and check references. It is so important that the wedding planner live up to the expectations of the bride. A good testimonial from a bride is crucial to the consultants business. Check references and find out how the wedding consultant was able to handle stressful situations and how well the wedding guests were treated during the event. 8. Skinny down your list and invite at least three wedding planners for face-to-face interviews. Almost all wedding planners offer free initial consultations so take advantage of this meeting and get to know your potential wedding planner.9. Ask for a face-to-face interview, dont just price shop. Some wedding planners dont like to give quotes over the phone. You are shopping not only for a service, but a personality. It is crucial to give your business to someone who understands what you are looking for in your vision. 10. Check to see if the wedding planner youve selected is affiliated with any Bridal Planning Association. Not only do you want your planner to be well connected, but you also want her to be in good standing and have a great rapport with any professional associations. Some wedding planners have won awards, and it is nice to be able to see this on a professional website as a sample of their work. For more information, please visit our website at Plan It For Me! Lipitor Side Effects

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ian_Mason] Ian Mason Lipitor is a drug intended to help lower cholesterol. The generic name for this brand-name medication is atorvastatin. What are the side effects of Lipitor (atorvastatin) cholesterol medication? Lipitor has been an effective treatment for many people across the country who suffer from high cholesterol. It lowers your cholesterol and, therefore, lowers your risk of heart attack, heart disease, hardening of the arteries and stroke. Like all prescription medications, Lipitor may cause some side effects during your treatment. There have been rare cases of muscle and liver problems developing with the treatment of Lipitor and other medicines which are similar. While youre taking Lipitor, you must get in touch with your doctor immediately if you notice any unusual and unexplainable muscle pain, weakness, or tenderness. This is especially critical if you experience the above symptoms along with a fever, symptoms of the flu, gastrointestinal pains (stomach/abdominal pains), unexplained fatigue, pale stools (feces) or dark urine. These might be early signs of liver or muscle difficulties. If you are experiencing any serious side effects, you must discontinue treatment with Lipitor and arrange a visit to the emergency room. If this emergency trip is not an option, then call your doctor immediately. What are the most serious side effects of Lipitor? Serious side effects of Lipitor include; allergic reactions (closing of the throat, swollen lips, trouble breathing, swelling of the face or tongue; and hives breakouts), decreased or rust-colored urine, or unusually blurry vision. What are the most common side effects I could experience? Other Lipitor side effects which are less serious are not such a pain, but there is a better chance you will have to deal with them. These side effects include headache, excess gas (flatulence), nausea or upset stomach, or a rash. If you notice any of these symptoms, you dont have to stop taking Lipitor, but you should get in touch with your doctor as soon as possible. Because science is not perfect, there may be other side effects besides those listed here. If you experience any other side effect that is unusual, unexplainable or especially annoying, make sure to arrange talk with your doctor. Learn the Facts About Breast Augmentation, Breast Implants, Liposuction, and Face Lifts

Friday, October 12th, 2007

By Amy-Jo Strutt Twenty years ago only the rich and famous, mostly in Hollywood, had cosmetic surgery to keep them looking younger. Today, the avenue of plastic surgery is open to just about anyone who has credit card. The cosmetic surgery industry is flourishing as the mob of Baby Boomers starts to creep into their 50, 60, and 70s. Leading the way are face lifts, eyelid lifts, liposuction, breast implants and breast augmentation, botox injections, the famous tummy tuck, and the list keeps getting longer and longer. The questions we all ask ourselves is the one about safety. Will I come out looking better? We all remember the law suits regarding breast augmentation. With any surgery there are risks, the question is, are you willing to take them. There is so much pressure on both men and women to be skinny, wrinkle free, no grey hair, fit and list goes on. In order to achieve these loft goals, they are turning to procedures such as liposuction, which is basically the removal of fat from deposits under the skin using a stainless steel tube and a high powered vacuum. Another popular choice is the face lift where surgeons actually cut the skin, pull it up and stitch it back in place with the goal of reducing visible lines and wrinkles. Many women are also turning to breast augmentation and breast implants. Increasing or decreasing their size depending on the challenge they face. Finding qualified surgeons is no longer an issue. They are in every major city around the world catering the needs and desires of men and women. They are constantly doing research and experiments on new procedures and drugs that will be the next generation to the likes of botox. Younger and younger people are also interested in plastic surgery. Reality tv shows such as the Swan are taking cosmetic surgery to new heights. We highly recommend that if you are considering getting liposuction, a tummy tuck, face lift, breast implants or breast augmentation, you get a number of expert opinions. Remember, not all surgeries go as planned and the results are ever lasting. So do your research first and talk to existing patients before you proceed. Prospecting with Promotional Gifts

Friday, October 12th, 2007

By Gareth Parkin Promotional gifts serve your company in many different ways, and the items that you choose as giveaways should reflect their purpose. One important way that you can use promotional gifts is in prospecting for new clients. The business relationship with your customers has a definite life cycle, and its important to cultivate it at each part of that cycle. The first step of building a business relationship with a new customer is in prospecting for new customers. Giving away free stuff is often a good way to introduce yourself to prospective clients and customers. Just what stuff you choose and how you hand it out depends a great deal on your type of business and your eventual goal. A business that relies heavily on one-hit sales like a real estate agency can use many of the same strategies as a company that relies on regular return business in attracting new customers, but there are some businesses that benefit more from one method than another. One of the keys to making your prospecting efforts successful is to suit the promotional items that you choose to your business. Its important to make sure that your name is in front of your customer at the point where he or she is thinking about your product. One of the most clever marketing ploys weve seen is the accounting office that sent out a brown paper grocery satchel in December one year. The sack was printed printed with the business name and telephone number along with the invitation to dump your receipts in the bag and let us sort it all out. Their business increased by nearly a third for that year. A second key concept in prospecting is to focus your sales efforts on qualified prospects. One classic way to narrow the field is to send out flyers via a direct mail advert campaign and then concentrate on those who respond to the mailing. You can increase responses by up to 54% by including a useful free promotional gift in the mailing. Packaging it in an unusual package will increase the responses even more, because it plays to the curiosity factor. A third factor in how successful you are with your prospecting efforts is the site of your giveaway. Direct mail is one option, but there are many other places where you can promote your business with free promotional gifts. Promoting a new juice or beverage? Set up a booth to hand out icy cold samples on the beach, each one wrapped in a snug beverage cooler sleeve. Or toss out Frisbees with the name of the beverage imprinted on them in the park to get everyone talking about the new brand. No matter what service or product you sell, there are promotional gifts and items that will make sense in your marketing. The key to making them work for you is to choose the right ones and use them in creative, attention-getting ways. There are many promotional gift companies on the internet that have combined decades of experience in designing eye-catching and unusual ways to use promotional items. Take the time to consult with a professional for ideas on how to best use your promotional budget to attract new custom. Gareth Parkin is the co-founder of Ideasbynet, the UK’s leading online promotional gifts and promotional items company based in the north of England. Backyard Neglect - A National Phenomenon - And What To Do About It

Monday, October 8th, 2007

By Elton DeWese Aah yes, the backyard. So many events, gatherings, memories. Do I hear the theme to the bridal march, birthday party horns, something sizzling on the grill? So much activity went on here over the years remembering them all would prove difficult. But the backyard is much more than all of these things. It can become a ’sanctuary’ for you and your furry neighbors(of the four-legged persuasion), as well as the feathered ones(two-legged persuasion). A place to relax and get away from it all, hence the word sanctuary in quotes. When last did you take a REALLY GOOD LOOK at your backyard and said to yourself - “Egads!” Just kidding… Maybe not. But seriously, have you ever seen your backyard for what it really is or rather what it could become? I’ll bet you never once cast your wary eyes on this most overlooked and under kept part of your domain and saw the raw potential of all this real estate. It’s my humble opinion that people, at least in this society - Neglect Their Backyards! There, I said it. I feel better now. It’s what I’ve wanted to say from the very beginning. And this phenomenon seems to transcend all cultural and monetary boundaries, as well as other societal “classes” for lack of a better word here. Rich or poor, young or old, blue or green, people who like science fiction and people who don’t(I harbor a special animosity towards the last group). No one seems to be immune. Are we all just a bunch of lazy dumb as@%#? Sorry, I get a little passionate about things - from time to time. But here’s a good example of what I mean. Take the scene from the movie The Godfather II. When papa Corlione is in the garden and about to have a heart attack. Now, take a good look around… I wonder if this garden had anything to do with Mr. Corlione’s demise. It seemed - well, sort of depressing. The type of place you could ‘die’ in. By comparison the house seemed lavish, luxurious. Fit for a king and his queen, very well kept. You can spend just as much time, energy and money designing and decorating this most humble part of your lair as you would any room in the house. Think, interior decorating, but in an exterior and outdoorsy kind of way. There are two basic ways to go about it. 1. Pay someone to do it for you. 2. Do it yourself. This article will focus on the latter. There’s no right or wrong between the two. Different strokes for different folks. And it doesn’t have to be that time consuming or costly. It all comes down to how much time and money ‘you’ want to put into it. With thousands of items, designs, layouts and tools to choose from to get the ball rolling, you can transform this nether region into the ‘place de rsistance’ of your r&r dreams without breaking the bank, or your back. A few points to remember in order to make things go smoothly. 1. You should plan to do this with at least one otherperson. You’ll need an extra pair of eyes and hands to helpset things up like line levels, hole diggers(augers), etc.more accurately, as well as lifting heavy items such as bagsof dirt or cement, bricks, blocks, lumber, glasses of icedtea and so forth. You can even turn it into a familyproject. Now the fun potential REALLY goes up a few notchesfor everyone, including the dog! Especially the dog. 2. Plan ahead. Digital design software allows you to dothis in spades(more on these in a minute). Like anythingyou do planning ahead can make the difference between agarden that looks ‘nice’ or ‘truly inspirational’. Taketime to carefully choose your design layout, items, budgetand ‘colors’. Remember plants do come in many differentcolors. My personal favorite, plaid. A little something Iput together myself with my ‘Genetic Engineering For DummiesGuide To Gene Splicing’ manual and kit. I tell you it’samazing what you can purchase on the internet these days.Just kidding! Had you there for a moment didn’t I? 3. Organize your design items carefully into groups tobetter decide what goes where and what looks good next towhat. Trying to undo and reinstall items that were wellplaced, especially heavy items such as fountains or benchescould add significant time, energy and possibly cost to yourproject. Also, if you’re a ‘newbie’ at this you shouldstart out simple. Just a few design items to get a feel forhow things will look in terms of placement and color scheme. You can always add to it later. Just don’t get carried awayand wind up with a garden that’s hard to navigate because oftoo many items strewn all over the place. Few things hurt agarden more than ‘garden clutter’. It ranks right up therewith dead plants and too much shade. There are many tools on the internet too numerous to list here that can literally shave days if not weeks off your project time and save you quite a bit of money in the process. The most efficient time savers are digital design software. They’re extremely sophisticated and won’t cost you a whole lot. Thereally decent ones cost anywhere from $30 to $100. Best bargains I’ve seen are on eBay and Amazon. The software literally shows you what your grounds will look like when the project is finished. This really helps in 3 major ways. 1. It saves you the cost of hiring a designer or landscapeartist. 2. It saves you the time and frustration of learning from trial and error, which can become quite costly. 3. No surprises, which can also be quite costly. By beingable to see the finished project right on your monitor you’ll know what works and what doesn’t. The image quality is fantastic. Some have actual photos that are incorporated into the software and others allow you to import your own. This aspect of the project has more potential than any other to be the most fun. Manipulating background photos, diagrams and entire layouts and seeing them transform and take shape right on your computer screen in 3-D imaging is pretty fascinating stuff. Some of the more sophisticated software are actually easierto use because of all the animation built into them. And as a result will make you feel like a real pro or at least quite pleased with yourself for putting together such a professional looking design. Okay, here endeth’ my plug for digital landscape designsoftware. The goal is to transform this Alice In Wonderlandinto a… into a… well, into something it never really was before but had the potential to be(whew). ‘Exactly’ what that is, I wouldn’t presume to know ‘exactly’. But speaking in a general sense, if your house is your castle then the space behind your house should be - an ‘oasis’ behind the castle. A private resort of sorts. A place that inspires you to relax and mellow out. This is where personal taste comes in which is why I can’t say exactly what this oasis should look like. But again speaking generally it should definitely inspire. Or else what would be the point. So, I believe I’ve made MY point. I’ve told you what theproblem is and gave you a solution, sort of. My solutionmay seem a bit vague. It’s lacking details on specifictechniques and items to correct this MAJOR societal flaw ofours. To give you all these details would mean anotherarticle all together. Check back here periodically, I’ll beputting together a follow up article on design techniques anditems you can use to help sculpt your ‘perfect’ backyardgarden and help bring your dream to fruition. Here’s a tip.Bird houses, benches and fountains would make excellentitems to start with. There are many others of course but Ichose these three because in my humble opinion I believethem to be the cornerstones of any well thought outbackyard/landscaping design project. Another thing I would like to mention, so I will. A wellkept backyard especially a landscaped one WILL increase the value of your property. The money you put into this project will at least double when added to your totalproperty value, which opens up some pretty nice financialportfolio options you’ll most likely want to bring to theattention of your financial advisor. You’ll have a sense of great satisfaction after completing your garden/landscaping project. The knowledge gained from such a project is invaluable and will come in handy again somewhere up the road. Now if that’s not enough motivation for you then allow me to try the romantic approach with a quote. “The greatest gift of the garden is the restoration of thefive senses.” - And that is all. NOTE: Summer will be here soon, the time for such a projectwould not be until then but right away. We only have one more change of season before the big meltdown(and I don’t mean global warming).
